I spent my teens and early 20s in a fog of dissociation, depression, and disconnection without any obvious reasons why. I believed that these seemingly inexplicable symptoms must be an indication that something was inherently wrong with me and that I was subject to feeling this way for the rest of my life.
Life has a funny way of bringing you what you need when you need it, which is how I found myself in San Francisco pursuing a Masters degree in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. It was here where I first began studying the mind-body-spirit connection, trauma, and more holistic, alternative modalities to healing and health.
I experimented and practiced everything I was learning on myself, and what I learned was that there actually wasn't anything wrong with me. I wasn't broken, I just held deep wounds, harmful patterns/behaviors, and unprocessed traumatic experiences below my level of conscious awareness that were wreaking havoc on my mental and physical well-being. I began to thaw from the functional freeze state I had grown accustomed to and began living a more intentional, purposeful, and engaged life.
Since then I've completed a second Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and countless other trainings (see below) to support you on your own journey back to your aliveness.
Using a collection of thoughtful modalities, I support you in remembering that you are not broken, but rather your body and mind are just stuck in old patterns, beliefs, and life experiences. Together, we will develop your capacity to process these old ways of being so you can feel deserving and capable of living a life full of connection, presence, and joy.
